Spring has sprung

It has been brought to my attention, quite a few times, that I haven't blogged in a very long time.  I am thankful for all of the subtle reminders because here I am, finally!  As many of you know, or can assume, we finally moved into our home.  Needless to say, my to-do list is extensive and when I start one thing, I walk by something else and get side tracked into another project.  Blogging is always in the back of my mind and this morning I made it a priority during the little dude's morning nap!

Where to begin?  After a huge headache, we were finally approved for our loan and settled on our house mid-April.  We were thankful for the time we had to live with  my parents but we were definitely ready to be out on our own and start our family routines together.  We are in a family-friendly neighborhood in a great location.  There is an elementary school right up the street so I delivered some cookies a few days after we moved in and to my surprise I started subbing the next day!  My parents live about 10 minutes away so my mom is able to babysit while I sub which is perfect.  The house was move-in ready but we have a lot of little things we will want to change and make our own over time. I've started painting some rooms so before/after pictures will soon follow!

Tomorrow, Deaglan will be 8 months old.  I feel like a broken record, but I can't believe he is already 8 months old.  I love looking back at pictures from the fall and I can't believe he was ever that tiny. Is it bad that looking at him as a baby baby makes me want another?  Yes, yes it is!!  Luckily, we have some family and friends that will have babies soon so I can squeeze their newborns.  And I digress...

Deaglan is growing like a weed and is so close to crawling.  He is able to get on his hands and knees and can reach one arm out and then falls.  Every week, we say "this week he will crawl" but nope!  He wiggles backwards and doesn't realize it, probably because he is too upset crying over the fact that he is getting further away from his toys.  He eats anything I put in front of him.  It was the coolest thing watching him learn over a few weeks how to use his pincer grasp to pick up his food and now he shovels it in without a problem.  The little duke (Rory's nickname for him) giggles like a baby doll when you tickle him and he loves to just sit and play with his toys.  At this age, we can do so much more with him and it isn't as much of a hassle to run errands or even go on walks.  Recently, he has started teething again so hopefully top teeth will pop out soon because teething babies aren't very fun!

These pictures were taken over the last month.  Please note his outfits...we went from snow, to 90 degrees, and now back to regular Spring weather.  Oy vey!  The little man woke up from his nap and is now being held captive in his pack n play.  It's not his favorite place to be so I will now be a good mother and rescue him.  We are headed to Home Depot- woohoo!  Now that we are more settled, I will continue to update with house things, recipes, and Deaglan's newest adventures.  Oh, and Rory and I are doing well also!  Grandma and Grandpa Brannan were able to visit for a week and we went on a quick weekend trip to a Bed & Breakfast weekend in Cooperstown, NY.
